Reddit story video generator with real footage (no gameplay, no fake text)
BakeVideos turns a Reddit-style story into a faceless short with real licensed footage instead of gameplay or fake chat screenshots: a first-person script, a natural neural voice, word-synced captions and music, rendered as a 15–60 second vertical MP4 in about 1–2 minutes. Free to try, no watermark.
The sample above was baked from this sentence
The short above was made from exactly this brief: "A 30-second story short told like a Reddit confession: my neighbour has been mowing my lawn for a year and I only found out why yesterday. Warm ending." No script was pasted; the story, voice, footage, captions and music came from that line. Bake the same brief and compare.
What works in Reddit story shorts
- Start with the strange part. "My neighbour has mowed my lawn every week for a year" is the hook. The setup comes after. Reddit stories are read because of the first line, so put the odd fact in the brief's first clause.
- One beat per scene. A story is a sequence of small turns: what I noticed, what I assumed, what I found out. Each turn is one line and one clip.
- 30 to 35 seconds with a clear ending. Say "warm ending" or "end on the twist" in the brief. A story that trails off is skipped.
- Real footage, not gameplay. Parkour clips and fake text bubbles are the default in this niche, and platforms have grown tired of them. Footage that matches the meaning of each line (a lawn at dusk, a hand on a fence, a porch light) reads as a real story, not a template. Swap any clip that misses.
- Word-by-word captions, first person. People watch these muted on the bus. Captions carry the story; keep it in first person so it reads like a post.
Three briefs to try
Each link opens the studio with the brief already filled in.
- A 30-second story short told like a Reddit confession: I kept finding coins on my windowsill every morning, and it turned out to be my elderly neighbour's crow. Warm ending.
- A 30-second story short told like a Reddit post: my coworker quietly covered my shifts for a month and never mentioned it. First person, warm ending.
- A 30-second story short told like a Reddit confession: I returned a wallet I found on a train and the owner turned out to be my old teacher. First person, gentle.
How it works
- Type the story in one sentence, or paste it. Say it is first person and how it should end. If you paste a real post, make sure you have the right to use it.
- BakeVideos bakes the short. Script with the hook first, one beat per scene, a neural voice, real footage from Pexels and Pixabay, captions and music. About 1–2 minutes.
- Adjust, then download. Change a line and only that scene is re-voiced. Swap clips, pick a different voice, download the MP4.
Rights and monetisation
The footage in every render comes from Pexels and Pixabay under licences that allow social, YouTube, ads and online video, and a licence record is saved with each render. Music comes from a no-attribution library (Mixkit Stock Music Free License). Nothing needs a credit. We cannot promise that any platform will monetise the channel; that is the platform's policy. Reusing someone else's post word for word is your responsibility, not ours; original stories are safer.
FAQ
Can I paste a real Reddit post as the script?
You can paste any script and BakeVideos keeps it as written. Whether you may reuse someone else's post is on you: it is their writing. Writing your own story from a one-sentence brief avoids the question.
Does it make the fake Reddit text or chat screenshot style?
No, and it is not planned. BakeVideos uses real footage with captions. Fake text visuals and gameplay backgrounds are not available.
Can I change the voice or a line?
Yes. Several English voices are available. Edit any line and only that scene is re-voiced and re-rendered. Voice cloning is not available.
Does it post to TikTok or YouTube for me?
Not yet. You download the MP4 and upload it yourself. Auto-posting is not live.
