Scary story video generator: faceless horror shorts for TikTok and YouTube
BakeVideos writes and renders a faceless scary story short from one sentence: a first-person script with a slow build, a natural neural voice, real dark footage, word-synced captions and low music. The result is a 15–60 second vertical MP4 in about 1–2 minutes. Free to try, no watermark.
The sample above was baked from this sentence
The short at the top of this page was made from exactly this brief: "A 30-second scary story short: a night-shift security guard notices the same man on two different cameras at the same time. First person, slow build, end on a chill." No script was written by hand. Bake the same brief and see how yours turns out.
What works in scary story shorts
- Start inside the moment. "I work nights. Last Tuesday I saw the same man on two cameras at once." No "let me tell you a story". The first line should already be unsettling.
- One beat per scene. Scary stories are built from small, ordinary details that stop being ordinary. Give each detail its own line so it gets its own clip and its own pause.
- 30 to 35 seconds, and end early. The best scary shorts stop one beat before the explanation. Write the ending in the brief ("end on a chill") and do not add a moral.
- Footage that matches the mood, not the nouns. A line about a security camera does not need footage of a security camera. An empty corridor, a flickering light, rain on a window carries more. The footage search works from meaning; swap anything that breaks the mood.
- Word-by-word captions, low music. Most scary shorts are watched late at night with the sound low. Captions keep the pacing. Turn the music volume down in the editor so the voice leads.
Three briefs to try
Each link opens the studio with the brief already in the box.
- A 30-second scary story short: I found a second set of footprints in the snow leading to my door, but none leading away. First person, slow build.
- A 30-second scary story short: the babysitter gets a text from the parents saying they are five minutes away, then the parents walk in and say they never texted. First person, end on a chill.
- A 25-second scary story short: my smart speaker answered a question I only thought. Quiet, first person, no jump scare.
How it works
- Type the premise in one sentence. Say it is first person, say how it should end. Or paste a story you wrote.
- BakeVideos bakes it. Script with the hook first, one beat per scene, a neural voice, real footage from Pexels and Pixabay, captions and music. About 1–2 minutes.
- Tune the mood, then download. Change a line and only that scene is re-voiced. Swap clips, lower the music, pick a slower voice. Download the MP4.
Rights and monetisation
All footage comes from Pexels and Pixabay under licences that allow social, YouTube, ads and online video; a licence record is saved with every render. Music is from a no-attribution library (Mixkit Stock Music Free License). Nothing needs a credit. We cannot promise monetisation on any platform; that stays the platform's policy, so read it before you count on it.
FAQ
Can I use my own script?
Yes. Paste your story and BakeVideos keeps every line, then adds the voice, footage, captions and music around it.
Can I change the voice or a line?
Yes. Several English voices are available; pick a slower, lower one for horror. Edit any line and only that scene is re-voiced and re-rendered. Voice cloning is not available.
Is the footage licensed?
Yes. Every clip comes from Pexels or Pixabay under licences that cover commercial and social use, and a licence record is stored with each render.
Does it post to TikTok or YouTube for me?
Not yet. You download the MP4 and upload it yourself. Auto-posting and scheduling are not live.
